Prepare the part to be drilled, determine the size and type of the hole in the part, and secure it to the drilling lathe with a fixture.
Install the appropriate drill bit according to the material type of the workpiece. Generally, an alloy drill is used. If the workpiece material is a special grade material, a diamond drill needs to be replaced.
Set appropriate drilling G codes according to the drawing requirements. Commonly used codes are G81 (spot drilling), G82 (step hole boring), and G83 (deep hole).
After setting up the program, run the drilling machine. Drilling is automatically completed according to the program.
